Introducing Melissa Choroszewska Ceramics…
First there’s ME!
Yes you have guessed it.. I am Melissa Choroszewska (well actually I am Melissa Cummings now I am married, but nevermind!).
Next there is Garry Cummings, my wonderful husband, he is my organiser (trust me without Garry I can’t organise myself out of a paper bag), my slip maker and mixer, my evening and weekends order packer (he works during the days) and as he says “my general dogs body”, though I would never say that!
No 3 is my Eldest Daughter Chloe! OK, she is only six so she doesn’t help all that much, but occasionally she holds a box closed while I tape it closed, or even gets packing materials from the office for me.
And finally my youngest Daughter Amelia-Jayne, She is only 1 so gives me lots of cuddles (everyone needs baby cuddles at work! Right?!)
The Beginning of Melissa Choroszewska Ceramics
In 2009 I graduated from Hereford College of Art with a degree in Contemporary Applied Arts, having specialised in ceramics. This is when my journey in ceramics and Melissa Choroszewska Ceramics really began!
Having finished my degree and moved back home to Cornwall, set up my workshop with a kiln and got a part time job at Plymouth College of Art as Large Metals technical demonstrator.
I built a website for Melissa Choroszewska Ceramics and opened my first etsy shop. I started contacting galleries and the first gallery I supplied was the lovely South West Crafts in Tavistock.
