This medium mother of pearl decorative bowl is inspired by the countryside surrounding the Tamar Valley in Devon and Cornwall.
This mother of pearl bowl makes a perfect gift for Christmas, birthday presents, pearl wedding anniversary gifts or Christmas gifts.
How this Decorative Bowl is Made
Our pearl decorative bowls are slipcast in porcelain clay. (Slipcasting is the process of pouring liquid clay – slip – into plaster molds). Once cast the bowls are maipulated and finished by hand, pinching the edges up and adding a swirl to the inside of the bowl.
When dry the bowls are bisque fired to 1000 degrees C, clear glaze is then applied and the bowls are high fired to 1260 degrees C. Finally a mother of pearl lustre is applied and the bowls get a 3rd and final firing.
When cool, these bowls are packed in our branded rustic style boxes, perfect for gifting.
